El Trafico TV is back (again)
Technically I never left!
But as you might have noticed, there’s hardly anything up on the site…so what’s that about?
Things were going great at the beginning of the year. The new website was up, my first few articles got a positive reception, other projects were in the works. Then all in an instant, I basically had to drop everything and stop covering the LA Galaxy AND LAFC.
Bummer.
Back when I managed LAG Confidential for SB Nation, I had the freedom to do what I wanted and used that freedom to create original content that racked up the page views. It’s rewarding to do your own thing without chasing clicks.
No one ever told me to cover the Galaxy Community outside of the stadium, or pen a scathing rebuke of former president Chris Klein (That kind of thing used to be frowned upon). I certainly didn’t plan on helping name a rivalry! But one thing led to another and all of a sudden Bob Bradley’s going “Throw that El Trafico thing out the f**king window!” after beating Sporting KC.
I was looking forward to replicating that formula with El Trafico TV! Until I had to prioritize other things. Like I said, a real bummer.
It didn’t help that I would often pass this giant Messi mural often in DTLA, a seven-story reminder of what I was missing out on.
The good news is, things appear to have stabilized enough for me to start covering soccer again! Looking forward to shaking off the rust and covering the team and the community. Maybe I’ll invite myself on a podcast or two? Do we need to bring El Trafico Radio back? The sky is the limit.
Hasta luego amigos.
